I don't really think it was that bad. I only disliked the fact they didn't show orihime or chad, but I'm sure he'll fit them in next chapter or the following.
However, I liked how Kubo made references back to Chapter 1 and 3 (albeit an antithesis). Seeing as how Kubo took weeks off, I hope he figured out how to pace better, so the chapters don't drag along.

I'm pretty sure Ichigo will gain back his Shinigami powers. He is the main character of the story, after all. His father got his abilities back, and Ichigo will probably get it back through the same method, effectively killing two birds with one stone. I'm kind of hoping this new character also lost his powers and is also looking for a way to gain them back, but idk. I hope Kubo does something interesting.

It's a little slow, but admit it, you all wanted to see what Ichigo would do without his powers. And it still has more intellectual and psychological content than any chapter of Naruto O.o

This arc seems like it's going to be lame, at least i read in an interview that this arc will be short.

also, the new chapter was ..... alright ..ish, i guess that its good that it made reference to the early chapters and yes, he probably will get his powers back

my big question is how did ichigo's dad (after using the final form) become a human..i mean ichigo was a human to start with but his dad was a dead man turned shinigami..shouldnt he have disappeared if he had used it?

Oz, it has not been confirmed that Isshin did indeed use FGT ( Aka, Final Getsuga ) That is merely a possible speculation.
Isshin could have also transferred his Shinigami powers to a Human, just like Rukia at the beginning of the series. (Perhaps the shady new Substitute?)

Oh okay. I thought i remembered something about when Isshin was talking about his mom he ended his sentence like "after all she was a..." and then it like cut scenes.. but idk maybe i just imagined that. lol

this arc is the begining of the following arcs thats gonna come.
2 years ago kubo took a gamble with a long arc based on aizen, ussually when you do an arc for this long the ending result is the gambling moment which eichiro oda(One piece) Always seams to be the best so far and does a very good job at winning fans heart. I say Tite has long way to go, however he still has potential to go as far as Oda does, seeing the story with ishhin is still foreshadowed and according to some rumors Gotei 13 aren't the only shinigami force.(rumours) means pottentially true according to interview.

Zangestu and the Hollow were originally one, so yeah, he died as well.
