Tournament Feedback
As I'm finalizing details for the August Annihilation tournament, I wanted to collect some user input from the last tournament to get some ideas for which way to go with certain things for this one. A couple questions in particular:
- How did you feel about the points system?
- How did you feel about the challenge matches (being able to challenge another player in your division for a match whenever both of you were on and a mod was on)
- What did you like about the tournament?
- What did you dislike about it?
- Any things you'd like to see in this tournament?

Re: Tournament Feedback
how hard would it be to get playoffs?, users with most points face eachother for the grand prize?
with rank differences im guessing not well.
would a seperate tiers make it better?

Was thinking of a bracket system for higher tier of tournament regardless of point system or not, so yeah something like this is likely.

Re: Tournament Feedback
Rapid fire question time;
Will there be a separate tournament/tournament bracket for the two races? (I.e A Hollow Only Tournament, a Shinigami Only Tournament and a Mixed Tournament.)
Will matches be forced? If so, who (and how) will pick/schedule the matches?
How will the tournament be layed out? Is it a free-for-all, find-your-own-opponent style tournament? Or a strict, moderated tournament, with scheduled matches?
(Personally, I would prefer for all matches to be planned before hand, so it's fair for everyone.)
How will the points system work? (I've been hearing bad things about the previous one.)
What's to stop people with other agendas helping their friends by purposefully losing matches?
Are there any other ways points can be gained? (I've heard about something called a 'challenge system', which again brings up the whole, 'Taking a dive, to boost a friend' thing.)
(Sorry if this wasn't what you were looking for when you created the forum post, but I'm just trying to get some answers to a few burning questions a few of us have and hopefully create a discussion which will lead to a better tournament.)

I haven't decided on many of those details yet. I'd prefer to get feedback from users based on how they feel about those issues before making my decisions.

Re: Tournament Feedback
As a participant of the former tournament i liked most things about it. The rank division should start at R2, the point system was ok. We should have a race tournament and a national tournament. (Hollow tournament/Shinigami tournament & Mixed tournament). The match if mod was on works if players are lacking points but might be a little unfair unless a player's point would be deducted if they lost and vice versa if player were the victor.

I liked how the last tourney was organised for the most part, the points system was good, but the challenge matches had some issues:

Maybe there's a lesser need for a mod on his time. You could schedule the matches, then make an option for the battle log to be sent to a mod only archive thing for tournament matches? something around that.
Either way, nothing that could happen before it starts..

Re: Tournament Feedback
honestly, I'd rather see a bracket system based off xp, per division. I'd also like to see challenging anyone in your division done away with & the point system... this can be manipulated to cheat your way to higher points

Re: Tournament Feedback
I'd just like to take the time to say thanks to all of the mods and admins who put in a lot of effort to make things run smoothly. I think this tournament is a huge success with it's features and how it's operated thus far. I've seen no problems with scheduling or issues rise because of how the tournament was set up this time around.
All in all, everything is running smoothly and efficiently and it's because of two things.
1. A great staff of mods and admins who put in the time and effort to get things running as awesome as they are, keep it up!
2. The user base, which I can't speak for, but in my general opinion, are very happy with how things are and cooperative for the most part with the staff.
Thanks once again guys!

Re: Tournament Feedback
I tried to make some things for this tournament to make it easier on both the users and the staff, so it would run smoother. Also summer tournaments seem to be optimal because a lot of people are out of school and have more availability, so we might stick to these. Glad you guys enjoyed it!
