"Foolish.... girl..."

Setoku lay where he had fallen, of course over-dramatizing the scene. Lyonin was on his best defense, and couldn't see what was happening within her mind's walls. But Setoku could - Not in a seer sense, mind you, but by the sudden variartions appearing in her Reishi. Lyonin and Stray may of been the Spirit Beings of the mortal Romeo and Juliet.... but Setoku and Stray, sadly, were the mortal version of them, and the immortal versions of Bonnie and Clyde. Not lovers like the two pair, but their tale could be viewed as, if not more so, just as tragic.... He didn't want that for her anymore. For her, nor.... For Lyonin.

"I don't understand.... Mother!"

Stray lashed out, kicking the small table in the dusty living room over. Why him? Why did it have to be him?! Youkai stood, stone faced, gazing at the door Setoku had walked out of, his new blue haori kicking up behind him, and tears streaking from his face. Youkai ordered him to join the Shinsengumi, her final tactic to separate the two. Stray, clearly, was livid. But Youkai answered calmly.

"Stray, let him go. He is doing it for the family. My word is law, and you will have to trust m----"

"No, mother! We were to be married! Now.... Now the fool will die... Alone and afraid! WITHOUT ME!"

Stray balled up her fist, and punched the wall next too her, causing Youkai externally, to flinch. Internally though, she couldn't be more pleased. Hopefully, Setoku would die, and seize his mantel, only to have it stolen from her by Stray, when Youkai arranged her death.

"Sara. You are scaring Jen - Now be the adult here, move on, and hold this family together! Do you understand me?!"

Stray glared at her mother a moment, and bit her lower lip, before she turned her head away, storming off out the door. She would stop Setoku from going... And this whole mess could be averted!

Setoku felt his back shaft, as the skin where Stray clawed him literally pulled itself forcefully together. He would never get use to this odd new form of regeneration, but Nikana had assured him it was more efficient. The marks in his back were slowly covered by folds of skin, save for one, which glowed a deep black. It was a wound to his reishi itself, and it bored the mark of.... Youkai. Was that how deep into Stray Youkai had become, then?

"Mother.... why...?"

Setoku asked himself, before he forced himself up to his feet, watching as Bala after bala soared toward Lyonin. Yet he did not intervene. He merely sighed, as he felt his skin pull tightly back together.

"SARA!"

Setoku suddenly bellowed, before taking a step forward, and fading from sight - Lyonin would see two massive bone wings protrude from Stray's shoulders, as if she herself was growing wings, before Setoku stood behind her, a clawed hand grabbing a chunk of the mask that covered her face, and ripping it clean off the portion it covered. A black mass seem to follow in it's wake, literally pulling a veil from her face which it covered. Setoku spoke carefully as his other clawed hand rested on Stray's shoulder.

"That is enough, Sara... Let us leave. As for you, Shinigami... I leave you with this... You will leave my sister be for the time being, until I fix what you broke..."

From the clawed hand on Stray's shoulder, a ball of purple energy suddenly flared into existence. Bolts of lightning cackling around it, as if a thunderstorm were contained within.

"Or... we can repeat the mess you made of her oh so long ago, and come see her die once more... At the precipice of the Towers of Las Noches. The choice is yours.... Little Brother."

His voice seem to drip with venom at those last words, and in their wake, followed a massive blast of purple energy, a Cero clearly.

"Gran Rei.... Cero."

Unless Stray did something to prevent the cero from firing, Lyonin was stuck with a massive blast of energy heading his way, and Stray would feel a sharp impact in the base of her spine, causing her body to go limp in Setoku's arms - To mark their hasty retreat from Soul Society. Only time would tell, of course.

energy flew past the Shinigami as the enraged spirit laid its assault. Shortly after, it began, it ended with a tearing sound. The noise let out was that of metal grinding through stone as the spiritual shroud was ripped from Stray's face.

Lyonin shifted, taking in the words that Setoku spat. His teeth grinded at the last bit before the cero was sent his way. Out of instinct, the shield was raised to defend against the attack, but only for a few seconds before it crackled and began to shatter. The energy blast through his armor and shot into Lyonin, sending him shooting backwards as the other two would disappear. He skid across the ground before rolling time and time again. Finally, the Shinigami came to a halt. Blood covered his body, but he fought to move still.

Towers... Of Las Noches...

He knew where he was to go next. As Lyonin slowly pulled himself to his knees, the stone of his rosary glistened a bit, slowly regennerating his vitality. He also knew that he didn't have long, however he still needed to rest, and to prepare for what he feared may lay ahead. A fear he had experienced times before.

To lose... The one he loved.

Finally reaching his feet, Lyonin began slumping away from the Soul Society. The only place he knew he could prepare, the Oasis in the mountains. Where he had spent many of the years before.

(No, Stray is just being an idiot with writers block who's busy with life and non-life and also writing a bunch of..."rp layouts" that will never really be appreciated. Oh, and Stray is also a mod on another site that's active daily and needs...yah know...modding done so I apologize. I also figured this thread was done, since my character is pretty much incapacitated to a point and being such, isn't very capable of having any physical or overall important mental response so...yep. Moving on!)
