so i don't see an explanation of the stats and what they do in the manual. is there something I missed maybe?

Currently the manual has hit a cap and we cannot add any more information. I will most likely open an extended manual in the forums so it can hold more detail. Currently supports and overseeing the staff are priority.

However, to make a quick answer to this question:

Melee skill - enhances melee offense & defense
Spirit skill - enhances spirit offense & defense
Sword Skill - affects ressureccion(hollow)/Zanpakuto(Shinigami) cost, unlocking abilities, etc.
High Speed Movement - affects spaces available to move in PvP (speed also plays a part in this [see below])

Endurance - enhances melee resistance/defense
Willpower - enhances spirit resistance/defense
Speed - affects movement, who attacks first, flee chance (PvP)
Intelligence - enhances spirit offense
Strength - enhances melee offense
