Hmm.. I know it has already been done.. Just 2 quick notes to think about here..
1. Maybe include the health bar and hide the actual numbers??
2. Being able to view all the battles happening at anytime, gives away that a player might be in kyoto.. Leaving them more vulnerable for a follow up attack..

Just observations.. I think the feature is awesome.. Good work team.. =P

Ok, so i was asked to elaborate..

1. Hiding the health numbers prevents others from seeing how much health you have, and also how much damage you take from certain attacks.

2. I just feel that someone can go and sit in kyoto, view current battle, and see that Elfsbane is fighting Apache, find where we are fighting and wait for the battle to end before taking an easy yet unfair follow up win.. So i'm just suggesting that you can always scan for battles, but they only appear if you are standing on the same square, or if the fight is happening within your scan area..

1 should be pretty easy to code, probably just take a minute or so.. 2 might take a bit longer, but still nothing major..

Does Battle show your current position? I don't recall that it does, so I think the second part might be a little useless, and some people don't want to have to go and put themselves in danger to watch a fight in the first place.

But the first thing, the thing about the health. That would help, maybe certain moves would take a certain amount of a stat for it to show what it is, so that you can't tell what moves would be best against said person and stuff of that nature.

Yet I like to be overly complicated at times :P

You can tell someone's HP by their level, something that is publically available -- More importantly, move damage is displayed in combat, which is really the relevant number as to what does more damage on them.

I don't see a problem with someone knowing you're in Kyoto but not knowing your location, they'd have to hunt around either way. They could just as easily hunt around and find out you're in battle, then wait for you to exit.
