Halloween 2016 Costume Event

Rules

• Photos must be submitted by November 3 at 12:00 Game Time
  
• There will be two categories: Personal and Group
  
• You may only enter each category once
  
• For the image to be identified as yours you must have some sort of identifying item present (such as a holding a piece of paper with your in-game name on it)
  
• All images will be released to community in one batch, with top pics being voted on by community to determine winner
  
• Prizes below are subject to change, based on participation
  
• Note: Group category added by request, if not enough participation this will be scrapped and some form of participation reward will be sent
  

Note: Group can be an actual group of people or a family member / friend. A group will be given priority for this portion (e.g. a tie would mean the group wins).

Personal Prizes
First: 20 shards
Second: 10 shards
Third: 5-million yen/souls

Group Prizes
First: 15 shards
Second: 5 shards
Third: 2-million yen/souls

I never even got to fight any Zombies, and I haven't seen any submissions for this contest.

I can see how this could become disheartening, when the event obviously took some collaboration on the parts of the WoB Staff to iron out, and if nobody even bothered to participate.

I think simmering that could help, is drawing more attention to the forums. maybe we could all do a bit more advertising the forum link on the site and in Announcements, as well as in regular conversation in Mixed and Faction chats. Maybe we could even stress the importance of forum activity during on-grid events and whatnot.

What folks want is instant gratification, and their endeavors on-grid provide that. If we show them how much more they can earn for themselves, and how much social interaction between parties can improve when not exclusive to Social in the game, people might get more interested.

I think domain forwarding works with forumotion boards, so maybe creating a pretty, shorter forum URL, for pennies on the dollar, could help too?

This stopped a player from participating in an event. This. Simply not giving the information a player wanted, or directing them to said information via a link in Chat or PM's. No words even needed to be said!

Who knows how many others took notice of the event but just weren't informed in the way they needed to be, even if it was just a redirect to where the information was.

Communicate with people. Seriously.

This was advertised in global announcements, race chats, race announcements my journal and in race orders by both the CC and KoHM. This is plenty of publication for a non official event. AT any rate, as this event is over thread will be locked.
