- Physical Appearance:
Sara's most noticeable feature is her yellow sclera, which are surrounded by black due to her unstable spirit energy. She is seen as an unusually tall, toned young adult with palid flesh and long layered hair. Being Hedonistic, she seems to enjoy wearing as little clothing as possible, when alone of course. She has a special love for an Arrancar uniform despite being from a time when they weren't used, and since being experimented on, it's been stated she wears it much more often than when she was a pure hollow. When enraged, the red markings along her body appear as if they are "bleeding" or dripping. The horns atop her head, taking the appearance of black "bull" like formations, extend into a black mask once her rage consumes her. This transformation process is still trying to be made undone by her brother, Setoku Shinamori.
- Zanpakuto:
Her zanpakuto was broken during Hiorin Kisagi's experiments. She now only carries a white sword, allegedly stolen from a slaughtered shinigami.
- Human History:
- Childhood to Pre-Teens:
Sara Shinamori was once a human, born to a mother who was presumed to be a street worker by choice. Before bearing Sara, the mother was attacked and assaulted by a client. During the assault, the mother was unfortunatley impregnated. The woman ended up being avenged by a mysterious monster before having Sara, tossing her out as soon as she could walk to work as a petty thief.
One night while Sara was making her rounds, taking what she could and avoiding the avoidable, her mother up and left the hut they shared. This led the little girl to go wandering, finding new victims and eventually learning how to fist fight with fellow orphans before being taken in a year later by Youkai Shinamori - a seemingly human woman with an inhuman wisdom. Sara thought of the woman as more than a mother...she revered her.
Sara's years were spent alone with Youkai, training with basic sword techniques and developing her spiritual awareness (subconciously) while fearing the raids and wars going on just beyond the village. The police forces were already abusing the villagers, and she was very against the thought of losing a second mother. Right when Sara was at her wit's end from working and training alone, two boys showed up. Setoku and Lobo...supposedly orphans like herself, but she begged to differ. She would have even gone so far as to say the two killed their own parents - but this would have just been a judgemental reaction. She hated that Youkai welcomed them into her home.
Her home, being the key phrase.
Sara had worked long and hard to gain acceptance and love from someone, and they were about to steal it away from her. All males did that. So of course, Sara attacked Setoku on sight, the smaller more vulnerable one...but a most curious thing happened when she did. He blocked her! The little runt- no, the little flea - he stopped her sword cold...with a real one no less. Little Sara was furious...but Youkai was impressed enough, and what was worse, her goddess made Setoku teach Sara his techniques.
At first, the girl was hesitant and envious, but after a year or two she matched his movements effortlessly and the three of them did more than enough to both get enough money to live off of comfortably and keep the police forces off their backs. Eventually due to the children the officers left them alone entirely, in fact, they left the village to be taken by the invading pirates. What was once a troubled village became a cesspool, with only the Shinamori family to protect it...for a price.
The family grew by this rumor, both in wealth and stature Other households feared the Shinamori name just as much as they prayed for it's swift return. They went from being theives and skilled hunters to guards and mercenaries...the Shinamori family became something more through those years. It became a clan.
- Pre-Teens to Teens:
Youkai of course, was the head of the clan. She handled everything the children couldn't, making sure to get the food and prepare it for dinners - getting alcohol for Sara and Setoku especially, mostly so the two could be occupied with drinking contests as she cooked. Lobo would help in the kitchen, and that's just how the evenenings went...usually without interuption.
Except on the night where Sara herself was late. At first, the family shrugged it off. She'd always been a bit of a Stray - coming in and out as she pleased while making sure comfort was abundant and money wasn't sparse. It was as simple a life as a mercenary could have...but then the preteen stumbled in with a child at her hip, clinging actually. A horrified look in her eyes as Sara yelled for Setoku to help.
The seriousness in her voice roused the boy from whatever drunkenness he had managed, and what he expected was an injury or a wound to sew up, all he got was an order to rip the girl from her side so she could take a bath. Preferably before Youkai finished dinner. This caused the entire family to come out into the open and judge Sara with a questioning eye, but it didn't last long. What the princess wanted she got, and it seemed she wanted the child to stay. The child - dubbed Wolf Cub by Sara alone - did just that. Introducing herself as Jennifer and snuggling into a comfy fit, offering the clan someone to look after instead of stab every other moment.
The order of ruling didn't change. Youkai was still the head, with Sara and Lobo ruling either side and Lobo bringing up the rear with both defenses and tact as needed. Oh no, the order didn't change until Eshilieth and Ivy entered the mix of deplorables that was the Shinamori.
Setoku and Sara had been in a heated training session when the two just so happened to come out of the woods and ask for a place to stay, even going so far as to ask if they could stay for good. Off the bat Youkai seemed bothered, and the two boys were skeptical as well...Jenn hiding behind Sara for protection. Sara, however, was the first to casually accept it. A big surprise for all of them as she was the most territorial. Still...while it took a few days, they all soon approved as well and the next day the clan was complete.
Youkai handling the cooking with Lobo and Eshilieth as Ivy spent the time clinging to Sara's arm, sneaking in a flirtatious comment before glaring at the child Sara herself doted on. The clan was always a little shady...and everyone knew just how easily someone could take a stab at the back...but the family had trust and patience, and each of them had something to give that would strengthen the household. It was a perfect life, and Sara adored how fulfilled the family made her feel. It was a complete paradise...
- Teens and Elder Teens + Death:
with only the occasional dash of bloodshed.
Sara and Setoku began taking duo missions more and more. Not just because the two were the most advanced swordsman, but because the two were at one time very much in love...despite their version of love being covered in hatred and envy. It was unhealthy but beautiful, and all Sara's to have.
This singularity had never been a bad thing at the time, the clan got along fine and the connection they shared made missions go much smoother than normal. One mission changed that though...because on that mission, a Kunoichi ruined everything. This kunoichi was known as Isabella, and Sara undoubtedly...without any compassion or understanding...despised her. Three times Sara tried to kill her on sight, but three times Setoku stopped her. She'd never known why...until one night while on a run she caught the two in the woods doing the most deplorable act of all. Sara tossed Setoku - fast - going first to Eshilieth for comfort, pissing off Ivy in the process, and later to Youkai. Who not only sided with Setoku, but sent him out with the Kunoichi for some secret mission she didn't fully understand. This mission turned into him abandoning the clan for the wars the entire family fought so hard to avoid.
Setoku just up and left with his new ninja, leaving Sara to pick up both his portion of work and take care of a sick Eshilieth, who'd loved him even before Sara did. The family fell apart fast - very fast - and left Sara in the wake of it's destruction. In the mess she murdered Lobo, her proclaimed husband, to keep him from killing Eshilieth in order to save his idea of what the clan should have been. The money, while still managed, was running low due to the lack of people requesting jobs...or more like just the lack of people. The two went from village, to cesspool, to wasteland and with Sara as the head of the clan under Youkai's supervision...she wasn't sure just what step to take. Youkai demanded they stay, but she fought against her goddess as much as possible in hopes of finding a new home. Youkai refused, and so the clan stayed...going back to the work of petty theives.
Once Eshilieth's condition got even worse, Sara asked Youkai for guidance and Youkai advised she find Setoku to heal her. Sara imediately set out to do so, more out of agitation than excitement. She ended up meeting with a lecherous shinto-follower, finding Setoku in the mix and with a bit of uneasiness, brought him home.
To make a long story short, it ended with Sara getting stabbed in the back - literally - by Youkai, who ended up getting "killed" by Setoku and his...ugh...'wife' Isabella. Ivy went with them, leaving the clan house to burn in the aftermath...along with Sara, Eshilieth, and Jennifer.
