Description: Kōta would have been your average boy next door with his unruly dark hair and dark eyes if not for the quasi-permanent scowl he wears on his young features. At a measly 5'6" and 132 lbs, he looks more like an errand boy than a defender of souls although anyone who points that out to him will earn themselves a rabid life-long enemy. He is usually seen covered in fresh bandages or gauze under his standard Shinigami uniform or sporting new bruises.

Background: Behind his gruff and bratty exterior lies a boy deeply scarred by the lost of his friends. Like many, Kōta's story began in Rukongai where he would spend his days playing and roughhousing with his friends. Eventually, the nagging feeling of hunger caught up to him beyond the occasional need to steal food; Hollows, attracted by Kōta's unusual level of spiritual energy, struck their district. Fortunately, they were close enough to Seireitei for Shinigamis to be promptly dispatched to their aid, but not before half of the district had been wiped out. The Shinigamis took notice of Kōta's presence pretty quickly and saw it fit for him to be adopted by a retired couple to nurture his potential. His adoptive family provided him with the training he needed to blitz through the Academy, but to everyone's surprise, upon his graduation Kōta enlisted into the fourth division, usually the last choice for more talented offensive fighters and Kido dunces like he.

Well, i for one enjoyed reading. I saw a couple spelling errors, but I'm not a grammar Nazi, so unless Setoku the flea has a problem, you should be good to go!

Seto edit: I see a couple problems here. The story and character are actually well thought out - but to have a bankai you must be one of the top three. Captain, lieutenant or third seat, but I'm not seeing a rank. Also, as a fourth squad member Bankai is a rarity unless it's pure healing. With one to zero real attacks. But I'm gonna give you the benifit of the doubt due to all the aid I see you put forth in everything you do. All I wish to see from ya is a rank. So... Approved.

Name of Bankai is merely a placeholder for me to remember the theme of his zanpakuto. I wasn't sure if you guys wanted everything filled out to make future character development faster to review or prefer to deal with things step by step. I didn't find a detailed guide on the character creation process here, so I just copied Hunata xD I'm actually still not sure whether or not I want him to have achieved Shikai yet. He's a squad member though I guess I should have been more precise and list him as an unseated squad member.

Ah, an unseated squadmate. Alright, Good enough for me. And I really like how you developed the theme for your sword ahead of time. It's rare we get thinkers on here. Usually we get brutes like Stray or over thinkers like me lol xD should of figured that's what you were aiming for with the lack of sword description. Also, when the game mods took over my board they over hauled my small time theme (as in full descriptions in one post to be approved) in favor of creating like 4 sub-sections for swords, weapons, armor... And Kido for some reason. I'll have to fix that. Once it got like this all the rpers left due to the confusing leap from simple to overly complicated x.x
