For the player who isn't a big fighter and wants to be more of a helper. Introducing Support specs!!

The Scout
- Reduced overall stats damage and def.
- focus on speed and HSM
- in built additional scan range That gives an additonal 10 squares at rank 8!! (r7= 8sq, r6=6sq, r5= 4sq, r4 and below 2 square boost)
- zans include high flee %, moving attacks, ranged based attacks

I...am not sure if this would ever provide a good playability. Since there is no multi-player grid PvP, then how on earth could this be used outside of spamming movement, heal, and hunting range,and being a meat sack for aggressives?

It's interesting MSK, you still have wonderful ideas as always. Yet I feel if you modified it just slightly, it would be much more useable, per ci. Lower some of the square boosts by 1 or 2, and only apply a high flee % if someone you are MARRIED too is on the same square.... Infact, just retail it to add "Help Boosts" for people who are on the same square and married. Like a slight stat boost, moderate speed increase and a high flee % option for if you do not want to fight. Make any sense or am I being weird again? X.x

A marriage boost? This makes more sense to me, but perhaps i isunderstood the first time. Either way, having a spec, soley based on spam boosting would not exactly be my cup of shinigami blood.
Anyway, marriage boosts could be like a perm. fracc boost, but as seto said, only when in that same sqaure. Not sure if that was where this topic was going...

ah i like the idea of having a boost for being on same square. as support possibly not marriage needed but being on the same square as someone in your race gives them a % boost in battle? The idea of this spec was not for pvp but to players who dont like pvp and want to help others

I know its a strange question but...why join a pvp game if you dont like pvp?? o.o;

The idea of suuport gains is good but...well, still, pvp might happen more often to the person who wishes to avoid it XD

If you ask around alot of people come and don;t enjoy the pvp aspect so why cater to one area alone? its not taking anything away by offering the option, yes there is more work but it offers a class to people who aren't into the fighting aspect.

Yes, i understand where you're coming from msk, but...its not that i think it useless, so much as an implement that might have drastic effects on the game's overall PvP-limited structure.
Whether those effects are good or not, i have yet to comprehend myself, but at the same time...as always, i would rather this was planned and fleshed out much more before actually putting it up as a valid suggestion.
A good idea as it is, it could hold many down falls that need to be removed, and adjusted. Such as how, if a supportive type were to fight in an invasion; It would provide help, but...it would be constantly killed by others who would want to rack up easy poits and give their enemies a disadvantage. Because supportives, until planned more, would not exactly be fighting machines, it would be like placing a steak in front of a bunch of Dogs.

All supportives will be torn to shreds if game ballances and player adjustments were not made.
Another reason i am wary is because WoB is a sand box.
We do not have testers outside of us unsuspecting players, and so if such a drastic change happened, the whole battle system coud very well be in chaos for quite some time.

Unfair. Unballanced, and over all a complete mess.

I worry for WoB.

My advice is to thuroughly plan this on your own, and if enough players think it worth it, message an admin and speak with them over possible flaws, before bringing an all out grand suggestion out in the open to be voted, possibly added, and crushed with no back story.

I hope i do not seem negative but, those are my thoughts.

Appreciate the input but I do have to disagree with a lot of the points you make.
First off the planning yes its an idea in the early stages hence I released here, Personally I feel suggestion thread is a good way to flesh out ideas and refine them (with the small hope admin notices and does something) with other users input.

Yes supportive types would be targets for others looking for a kill and they would be weaker but that is the whole point of the supportive. They aren't there to win PvP's themselves but assist others in winning. This I believe would lead to "fighting players" to be more protective of their support (which also leads to a form of teamwork in hunting, which i think adds to the game tremendously).

Yes lack of testers is an issue but that's what i think the other server can be used for. A chance to trial some suggestions with players. If not then like all new content it would have to be refined over time from player input as they level through the spec.


Yes you seem very negative but I get where you are coming from and thoroughly disagree on all points made Bird

Personally, I love the idea. I'm a fighter myself, but have always been a Support type at heart.

I do not believe we would be ignoring the greater fighting populace, but instead giving Choices, a Game Grows with its Players as much as the Person behind the Keyboard.

We can change, as the game can change, to better assist those we love.

I, for one, give my full Kyuubi Support (~ o3o)~
