December Desolation: Rules & Guidelines
Tournament is: COMPLETE
Challenge Matches are disabled!

General guidelines

  • All ranks are eligible to register EXCEPT Human, Student and Devouring Beast.
  • There will only be one tournament section - however, the top of the non-winning race will receive prizes
  • Any rank that does not have at least five participants will be dropped from the tournament.

Match System
Like previous tournaments, each match will be comprised of the best of three rounds. This means that there will be a maximum of three fights between the two participants in a match before a winner is declared (i.e. the user that wins twice is declared winner).

  • Both participants will begin each round with full pools and HP
  • You may not attack your opponent until a staff-global message is posted announcing to do so
  • Seat items are disabled in the arena
  • Auras are allowed in the tournament

Point System
Unlike previous tournaments, this will not be a standard elimination-based tournament. This year's tournament will be using a point-based system. Each participant will be allocated 10 points at the beginning of the tournament. These points will be used whenever you fight in a challenge match or scheduled match (more on these later).

How do these points work?
Your points are what keep you in the tournament, they are used when you fight in scheduled/challenge matches. The loser of any match will have a set amount of points deducted, similarly the winner of a match will be awarded a set amount of points. A list of scheduled matches will appear in the post below.

Refusal to fight / no-show
Any participant that refuses to fight/no-show in a match will be considered conceding defeat and will be considered a loss for that match. If you go inactive during a challenge match, it will be considered a loss.

Scheduled matches
A) One participant shows up, one participant doesn't show up. The participant that shows up will be awarded two points, the no-show participant will lose 2 points. *The participant that shows up must remain active until they are declared winner via global message.

B) If both participants fail to show up, they will each lose two points.

Challenge matches
A) If a participant goes inactive during a challenge match, it will be considered a loss and they will lose one point. The user that remained active will be awarded one point.

B) If both participants go inactive during a challenge match, each participant will lose one point.

What happened to rescheduling matches?
Simply put, rescheduling matches puts stress on the staff and your fellow participants. Because of this, and the fact that there is a challenge feature, this tournament WILL NOT ALLOW RESCHEDULING.

What happens if I lose all my points?
Any participant that reaches 0 points will be eliminated from the tournament. This means that you should use your use (accepting/declining/issuing) challenges wisely to keep your points up.

Scheduled Matches
Scheduled matches will be set by a staff member and will be listed in the post below. You will also receive a message in-game alerting you that a match as been scheduled.

Scheduled matches will be weighted at a two point risk. This means that if you have a scheduled match, if you win, you will be awarded two points. If you lose the match, you will be deducted two points. See no-show/refusal to fight above for further details if your opponent doesn't show up or doesn't want to fight.

Challenge Matches
Any participant of the same rank can issue challenges to another participant in their rank. Both participants must agree to fight each other and can request a staff member to run their match. Running a match is at the discretion of the staff member.

To help prevent any point farming/abuse of this system, any two users may only fight each other on a challenge basis once. This means that Lsmjudoka and Hitori can only fight once in the whole tournament through a challenge - regardless of who issued the challenge and who accepted it.

Remember, your challenges can result in you either remaining in the tournament or being eliminated. Accept/Decline/Issue your challenges wisely, you may want to hold off until after your first scheduled match before you start using your challenge privilege.

Challenges are not issued through the spar function of the game. To participate in a challenge match, both users must ask an online staff member to run a match. Both users must let the staff member know they agree to the fight. The match will occur in the arena, like regular scheduled matches.

** Staff reserves the right to assign scheduled matches at any time.

Tournament Rules
1. If you rank up after you have already registered you will automatically disqualified. Ranking up is not an option after you have registered, if you plan to rank up do it BEFORE you register.

2. If you are not online / stand around in the battle (the whole time), you will lose the match. We will wait for FIVE minutes if our schedule allows, in case you have been disconnected in some way. We will not shift the fights just because you aren't online.

3. All matches will be watched by a staff member. If a participant is found battle holding, it will result in the loss of that round.

4. Any glitching, bug abuse, or otherwise obtaining an unfair advantage will result in full elimination from the tournament.

5. Any match(es) missed as a result of a game ban will result in a loss for those match(es).

6. If you attack your opponent before given permission via Global message, you will automatically lose that round.

7. Staff reserves the right to schedule matches if a satisfactory pace is not being achieved.

8. Each participant of the tournament will receive Godly Aura!
Two weeks of aura will be applied at the start of the tournament. Two weeks will be applied after you complete your first match.

Tournament rules and guidelines are subject to change, any major changes will be announced via global message. It is still a good idea to check in here periodically to be safe. Generalized questions about the tournament can be answered by most staff members; anything that doesn't fall under "general" category should be directed to Hitori in-game.

Champion Definitions
Grand Champion: The participant with the most points in any given rank will be declared Grand Champion.
Hollow Champion: The Hollow participant with the most points in any given rank will be declared Hollow Champion.*
Shinigami Champion: The Shinigami participant with the most points in any given rank will be declared Shinigami Champion.*

* Because each participant may only win one championship prize, if you would normally qualify for the prize but were declared Grand Champion the prize will be given to the next participant in line.
** The way prize distribution is set up, each race will have three chances at being in one of the championship positions - it is guaranteed that at least one participant from each race will be in a championship prize-tier. To win a grand prize tier you must be at least two points ahead of the trailing participant.

Consolation Prizes

Every user that participated in the tournament that did not receive a Champion or Runner-up prize - even those who were eliminated - will receive Yen/Souls. The amount of Yen/Souls received will be dependent upon how many participants were in your rank. Any ranks that lacked enough participants will be excluded from this prize. If you were disqualified, you will not receive a consolation prize.

Note: Disqualification occurs from breaking rules, glitching, bug abuse, etc.
Elimination is the result of participating in the event but losing all your points.

Rank 4: 750,000 Yen/Souls
Rank 5: 1,000,000 Yen/Souls
Rank 6: 1,300,000 Yen/souls
Rank 7: 1,500,000 Yen/Souls
Rank 8: 1,800,000 Yen/Souls
