Area Damage Empty Area Damage

As damage based moves have an area of attack i thought maybe it could add some more strategy if certain areas of the move caused more damage. Take a 3.3 stationary move for example if opponent is dead center of the moves effect range he would have extra damage dealt.

This would mean players trying to avoid being hit by the strong effect zone of moves sort of ducking and weaving in battle.

Dunno if this makes sense but I thought it would be interesting
