Chapter 2 A Meeting in Knight
Year: Unbeknownst
Place: Kyoto
Secluded from the light of the stars and rays of the crescent moon, just barely visible now, due to the oncoming clouds of rain, a shihakusho flitters against that of a small body. Hanging off of the small white belt, that all shinigami were required to wear, a zanpakutō hung loosely with a shinigami’s hand gripping the hilt loosely.
The wind whips around suddenly, and the small shinigami tenses. He’s coming, he thinks to himself. Standing on the rooftop of one of the tall shopping malls of Kyoto, he braced himself, glancing around wearily.
On the other side of the rooftop, the sky cracks open horizontally, both sides retracting slowly like bars pulling themselves apart, creating a ominous space within the already dark skies of night. For a moment the shinigami stared into the shadows of the Garganta, the hollow’s gate, before stepping back suddenly, having seen movement from inside.
“Are you from Division 13?” a voice asks hurriedly, but bluntly, not bothering to step out of the shadows of the Garganta. The hollow sees that the shinigami is scared, knees buckled together, shaking slightly from the waist down. He sighs inwardly.
“Y-yes,” he manages to stutter, as the grip on his zanpakutō tightens. “I am Silpheed, 3rd Seat of Division 13, under the command of—”
“Do not mention names here --Silpheed. It is not, wise. You are to report back to your world, one that will crumble to its knees once we are done there, and tell your king--” The hollow paused; glancing behind him, back the way he came. “The King of Hueco Mundo has spoken. Our war will begin.”
He turns away.
Silpheed steps forward cautiously but quickly, alert. “Hollow,” he spat out in disgust. “How will I tell them the information is true? Whose, dang gone curse’ed name, do I give?”
The hollow glances back, before laughing at the idea. “You can tell him, that soon, Brigon, Captain of Raids, is coming for him. And that he won’t survive this time,” the hollow says, laughing forebodingly, walking back through the Garganta, as the bars of the sky close back up, sealing the way he had come.
The 3rd seat fell to his knees. “War...” he whispered.
